Last updated [DATE]
This policy explains what information Octopedarian ([LEGAL ENTITY NAME, ADDRESS]) collects, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- When you take the pledge, we collect your first name, email address and country, plus your last name and city if you add them. We also note whether you chose Born-Again Octopedarian and, if you joined through someone's link, who referred you.
- When you use the site, we collect basic technical and usage data (such as pages visited and device type) and use the cookies described below.
How we use it
- To create your membership, member number, card and referral link.
- To send you account emails, like your welcome email, sign-in links, and notices when someone joins through your link.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the movement is growing (for example, how many countries are represented).
We do not sell your personal information.
What's public
Your membership card and share images show your first name, member number, join month and (if you chose it) Born-Again status. Your last name appears only if you turn that on. Your email is never shown publicly.
Cookies
- A sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in.
- A referral cookie (30 days) that credits the member who invited you.
- [Analytics cookies, if enabled, and how to opt out.]
Service providers
We use trusted providers to run the site, including hosting ([HOSTING PROVIDER]), database ([DATABASE PROVIDER]), email delivery ([EMAIL PROVIDER]) and [ANALYTICS PROVIDER]. They process data only on our behalf.
Your choices and rights
You can update your card preferences from your dashboard. To access, correct or delete your data, email [privacy@octopedarian.com]. [Add jurisdiction-specific rights, e.g. GDPR/UK GDPR/CCPA, retention periods and international transfer details.]
